I believe in the cosmos. All of us are linked to the cosmos. So nature is my god. To me, nature is sacred. Trees are my temples and forests are my cathedrals. Being at one with nature.
One grand great life throbs through earth’s giant heart,
There is only one breath. All are made of the same clay. The light within all is the same.
So powerful is the light of unity that it can illiminate the whole world.
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the center of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this center is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
When our focus is toward a principle of relatedness and oneness, and away from fragmentation and isolation, health ensues.
“You and I are all as much continuous with the physical universe as a wave is continuous with the ocean.”
Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.
What is a weed? A plant whose virtues have not yet been discovered.
The richness I achieve comes from Nature, the source of my inspiration.
Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength that will endure as long as life lasts.
Nature does not hurry, yet everything is accomplished.
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair.
It is well that you should celebrate your Arbor Day thoughtfully, for within your lifetime the nation’s need of trees will become serious. We of an older generation can get along with what we have, though with growing hardship; but in your full manhood and womanhood you will want what nature once so bountifully supplied and man so thoughtlessly destroyed; and because of that want you will reproach us, not for what we have used, but for what we have wasted. ~Theodore Roosevelt, 1907 Arbor Day Message
