For some people, honoring the Spirit of Home before they begin their daily activities feels best. For others, honoring the Spirit of Home when they finish their day and re-enter their home feels best. For yet others, honoring the Spirit of Home at the beginning and close of their daily activities feels best. There are no right answers here only suggestions as to how you might more consciously interact with the embodying Presence that is the Spirit of your home.
For some people, it is essential to create a specific place in the home that becomes the altar to the Spirit of Home a place where your relationship with this enfolding presence finds its focus.
•Begin by creating an intention for the activity you’re about to engage;
One suggested intention might be something like this: I choose to honor the living presence of the Spirit of my Home and do this ritual to express my gratitude to that Spirit for its abiding compassion and generosity in creating a home environment that nourishes and supports me.
•Next, you may choose to light a candle and burn some sage, palo santo, or other incense as an offering to, and cleansing of, the space. You may also decide to put flowers on your home altar, as another way of thanking and honoring the Spirit of Home;
•Then, going from area to area, and room to room if you have more than one room, offer gratitude and blessings to the Spirit of Home that embodies and nourishes the various spaces in your living space;
•You can do a similar ritual in your workplace, as well, to honor the Spirit that embodies that space;
•Finally, when you have finished, take another moment to feel into, and express, your gratitude for the gift of a home sanctuary that supports you in all the ways you want and need.
Even if there are areas where you arent yet supported, offering gratitude as if things were already as you wish them to be generates an intention and communication of what you wish or need. This communication conveys to the Spirit of Home what would support you even more than what you have already.
Then, you may choose to keep a candle burning for a while, or blow it out at the end of the ritual. Whenever you choose to extinguish the candle, do so mindfully, with a final expression of gratitude as you do so.
As you complete exploring this ritual, take a few moments to notice the resonating tone of your experience of honoring the Spirit of the sanctuary that is your home.
