I want to realize brotherhood or identity not merely with the beings called human, but I want to realize identity with all life, even with such beings as crawl on earth.

There is in all visible things an invisible fecundity, a dimmed light, a meek namelessness, a hidden wholeness. This mysterious unity and integrity is wisdom, the mother of us all, “natura naturans.” There is in all things an inexhaustible sweetness and purity, a silence that is a fountain of action and joy. It rises up in wordless gentleness, and flows out to me from the unseen roots of all created being.
Look at a tree, a flower, a plant. Let your awareness rest upon it. How still they are, how deeply rooted in Being. Allow nature to teach you stillness.
You didn’t come into this world. You came out of it, like a wave from the ocean. You are not a stranger here.

I have come into this world to see this: the sword drop from men’s hands even at the height of their arc of rage because we have finally realized there is just one flesh we can wound.
The first peace, which is the most important, is that which comes within the souls of people when they realize their relationship, their oneness with the universe and all its powers, and when they realize that at the centre of the universe dwells the Great Spirit, and that this centre is really everywhere, it is within each of us.
When we speak of Nature it is wrong to forget that we are ourselves a part of Nature. We ought to view ourselves with the same curiosity and openness with which we study a tree, the sky or a thought, because we too are linked to the entire universe.
In nature we never see anything isolated, but everything in connection with something else which is before it, beside it, under it and over it.
The Mayan elders who visited New York City in October said that the shift at this time is from “me” to “we”. As we enter 2013, our opportunity is to commit even more deeply to a willingness to acknowledge and live an interdependent life – moving from a stance of separateness and individualism to one of interdependence and oneness. Our quote for today reflects this opportunity:
Everything in Nature contains all the powers of Nature. Everything is made of one hidden stuff.
Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul.
Everything is the product of one universal creative effort. There is nothing dead in Nature. Everything is organic and living, and therefore the whole world appears to be a living organism.
Our task must be to free ourselves by widening our circle of compassion to embrace all living creatures and the whole of nature and its beauty.
When our focus is toward a principle of relatedness and oneness, and away from fragmentation and isolation, health ensues.
