
Because I work the late shift in prayer, I get to see a lot of spirits moving through the night, for the night is the time for sacred beings, the time when they go about their work, repairing and healing and whispering, whispering into the sleeping ears of many a soul, the path before them opened even before they know it, except for old men like me, keeping the late shift of memories, prayers and dreams.
