What I love about Deep Ecology is that we are invited to extend our self interest as large as we want and we extend it to include all of life. That is the nature of this time – the exquisite challenge of this planetary crisis is that we can chose to see that our basic identity is a part of the earth. We are unique, there’s nobody else like us, but we draw from and are interdependent with the whole Earth.
