Love contains a consciousness that can help us look away from ourselves and towards the needs of the whole. Love is present everywhere at the same time. This is one of the secrets of love that is hidden from the ordinary consciousness. Our individual experience of love may be determined by the openness of our heart and other criteria, but love itself is not localized. Working with love, we have access to its totality of presence. When our focus is towards the individual self we see only fragments of love, but when we turn away from ourself we can glimpse its vaster dimension. When we work with a heart and mind that are not controlled by self interest, we can have direct access to the ONENESS that is within all of life.
